Where does your power come from?
Minnkota Power Cooperative, Inc., (MPC) is a regional generation and transmission cooperative serving 11 member-owned distribution cooperatives and 12 small municipals. Minnkota's service area of 35,000 square miles is located in thirteen counties in eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. Through its generation resources, Minnkota has some of the most competitive wholesale electrical rates in the country.
Minnkota's electric generation portfolio includes a diverse mix of coal, wind and hydro resources. In terms of nameplate capacity, about 55 percent is derived from coal, 34 percent from wind, 8 percent from hydro and 3 percent from other resources.
