Welcome to Beltrami Electric Cooperative. To assist you in making changes to your existing electrical service with Beltrami Electric, we have outlined the process below. In order to make any changes to your existing electrical service with Beltrami Electric, we have outlined the process below.  You may call our office and any of our member service representatives will be happy to assist you with this process or any questions. Upload a copy of the property Warranty Deed for an updated right-of-way easement. Right-of-way easements give Beltrami Electric Cooperative permission to install and maintain electrical equipment on your property.

Construction Charges & Requirements

CONSTRUCTION CHARGES:
 

(All construction footage charges must be paid in full prior to scheduling)

  • The cost to relocated, extend or convert primary or secondary underground shall be a minimum Contribution in Aid charge of $750, plus the following charges:

    • Single phase primary and secondary - $4.00/foot

    • There will be an additional charge of $2.00 per foot for a second run of secondary if required, except for cases where the second run of secondary is needed for off-peak electric service, then the $2.00 per foot will be waived.

  • Members completing Service Upgrades for the installation of new or additional off-peak electric heating and other managed loads will receive a $400 credit off the minimum service contribution and a credit on the footage for up to 200 feet of line.

  • The cost to relocate a pole, pad-mount transformer or a pedestal, along the path of the existing line, shall be $750 plus the following rates:

    • $225 per hour for a two-man crew, plus material

    • $450 per hour for a four-man crew, plus material

  • If requesting changes to a Three-Phase service, cost will be determined upon staking consultation.

  • Frost charges of an additional $7.00 per foot with a $500.00 minimum will be applied to all underground services installed between November 1 and May 1 of each year, dependent on MnDOT road restrictions.

  • All construction cost estimates are valid for 12 months and do not include any membership fee or deposits that may be due.

  • It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain and clear right-of-way and to pay for any permit fees.

  • It is the owner's responsibility to locate and expose their private lines and facilities before construction takes place. Any water lines buried deeper than 48 inches do no have to be exposed.  The cooperative is not responsible for damages to private lines and facilities such as cable TV, satellite, private electrical, water, well, sewer, telephone, gas, lift station pump lines, invisible dog fences or sprinkler system lines.

  • Disconnection of service may be made after one years' continuous service at the request of the member.
