Contact BEC at 800-955-6083 to confirm that we have your current cell phone number linked to your account.

Click the registration button below.

Read the member agreement and click 'Accept.'

Enter your BEC account number and mobile phone number. It's important to note that the mobile phone number you are registering for outage texting capabilities must be associated with your account in our billing system. If it's not, you will not be able to complete your registration.

After clicking 'Go', you will receive a verification code via text that you will need to enter to complete the registration process.

To confirm successful completion of the registration process, you will receive a text message thanking you for joining the outage texting service. If BEC does not have your cell phone number on file, you will receive a message to contact us to update your contact number.

You will want to add the Outage number to your cell phone contacts list so it will be readily available when a power outage occurs.
Once registration is complete, you will be directed to a screen listing the account number(s) associated with your cell phone number. For accounts with multiple locations, key word indicators (e.g. garage, home, cabin, etc.) can be used in the outage report. For example, in the case of a power outage at your cabin, you would type "Outage Cabin." If all your accounts are without power, you would type "Outage All."
Once your text is received and verified by BEC's outage management system, you will receive an "outage Reported Successfully" text message. And, once the outage has been restored, a text confirming the outage has been restored will be sent to you. If you are still without power, it will direct you to call the cooperative with the contact number provided.
