Beltrami Electric Cooperative is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (VP/CFO) to join our executive leadership team due to a retirement in March 2027. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring the financial strength, integrity, and long-term sustainability of the Cooperative while supporting our mission of providing safe, reliable, and excellent service to our members.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the President & CEO and Board of Directors.
- Lead and develop the Finance, Accounting, Payroll, and Information Technology teams.
- Direct the Cooperative's financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and risk management.
- Ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls.
- Support long-term infrastructure investments and organizational growth.
- Present financial results and recommendations to leadership, the Board, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to strategic planning and organizational success as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Build a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
What makes you a good fit:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required; Master's degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum five years of senior financial leadership experience.
- Proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, capital financing, risk management, and utility accounting.
- Experience with strategic business planning and strategy execution.
- Electric cooperative, utility, public power, or energy industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of RUS accounting standards, CFC financial practices, and industry certifications such as CFPC are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
Beltrami Electric Cooperative offers an excellent pay and benefits package. The starting salary range for this position is $197,000 - $235,000. The final compensation offered will be based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience and skill level. Relocation allowance available. Beltrami Electric Cooperative’s benefit package includes paid holidays, vacation, sick and medical leave, medical, dental, disability, and life insurance, FSA, HSA, NRECA defined contribution and defined benefit plans.
