Beltrami Electric Cooperative will hold District meetings in three of the cooperative’s districts whose directors are up for re-election. Nominations will be accepted for director positions at these meetings.  Members interested in running for a director position should attend their district meeting where they are eligible for nomination by another member of the co-op.  The top two candidates as determined by popular vote will have their names on the general election ballot.

District meetings are held each year in accordance with the cooperative’s bylaws.  Cooperative Members are encouraged to attend one of the meetings, as they are a great way to stay informed about the cooperative and to express concerns or ideas to directors and staff.  The meetings also serve as a prelude to the upcoming annual meeting to be held Tuesday, April 23, at the Bemidji High School.  District meetings have been scheduled for Beltrami Electric members residing in Districts 1, 5 and 8 as follows: 

District 1: Monday, March 4 at the North Beltrami Community Center in Kelliher, Minn.
Murl Nord is the incumbent.  District 1 includes the following Townships in Beltrami County:  Battle (including account 11-27-018 in section 27), Birch Island, Cormant, Eland, Hornet, Kelliher, Langor, O’Brien, Quiring, Red Lake, Shooks, Shotley (East and West), Waskish (North, South and West), Woodrow.    District 1 also includes the following Townships in Koochiching County:Unorganized T151N R29W, Unorganized T152N R29W, Unorganized T155N R29W.

District 5: Tuesday, March 5 at the Ten Lake Town Hall in Cass Lake, Minn.
Robert Wallner is the incumbent.
 District 5 includes the following Townships in Beltrami County:  Brook Lake, Frohn (Section 25), Moose Lake, Sugar Bush, Ten Lake.

District 5 also includes the following Townships in Cass County:  Otter Tail Peninsula-NW (Sections 1-18), Pike Bay, Unorganized T145N R30W, Wilkinson (Sections 1-18).

District 8: Thursday, March 7 at the Fern Lake Town Hall in Becida, Minn.
Sue Kringen is the incumbent. 
District 8 includes the following Townships in Beltrami County: Eckles, Grant Valley, Jones, Lammers.  District 8 also includes the following Townships in Hubbard County: Fern, Guthrie, Lake Hattie, Rockwood, Schoolcraft.
