Beltrami Electric Cooperative is calling on volunteers of all ages for GreenTouch, a state park clean-up day sponsored by Minnesota’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives. This year’s event will be held at Lake Bemidji State Park, Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
GreenTouch is a volunteer event at Minnesota’s state parks to help clear hiking trails, rake leaves and pine needles, and pick up litter. During the past 19 years, Minnesota’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives have organized more than 9,700 volunteers to donate more than 35,800 hours at the state parks.
With more than 8.1 million visitors using Minnesota’s state parks each year, GreenTouch is a timely event held the first Saturday in May to help park staff prepare for the summer season.
Youth groups, service clubs and other organizations are welcome to participate in GreenTouch. You need not be a Beltrami Electric Cooperative member to volunteer. Lunch will be provided for volunteers. If you would like to participate in GreenTouch, please contact Angela Lyseng at Beltrami Electric Cooperative by calling 218-444-3689, or e-mail alyseng@beltramielectric.com.
